Will you try to make an entry with any of these three themes to show the advantages of NaaLaa?

Well, I really want to make a game using the enginea library, and I had some nice and simple ideas for "Four colors" and "Machines". All about shooting stuff, of course Big Grin  But what we got was '120 seconds", "Unstable" and "Edge". I hate time preasure, so "120 seconds" is a big no. "Edge"? No ... unless the player just runs around shooting people who thinks Microsoft Edge is a good browser. "Unstable" is probably the best one, I think.

Unstable should be a reasonable choice. You made a good decision. The forum community will be excited by the finished entry. Moreover, the community will have full confidence in Enginea Library as well. Yeah.

I have barely had any time for working on my entry. Since the entire family is on vacation, we spent a week at my dad's and soon we're off again. And the kids (and me) want to do fun stuff. So I only get an hour here and an hour there. But hopefully I can submit "something".

I went for the 120 seconds theme. Basicly, it's an fps game where you have to enter areas with toxic air every now and then. The player can hold its breath for (exactly) 120 seconds, then it starts taking constant damage from breathing. Dark creatures live in these areas, and you have to complete simple tasks before you can leave.

Here are the enemies I've made. It takes several hours for me to model, texture, animate and program a single enemy, even this super simple looking ones. So these will probably be the only ones).

https://naalaa.com/tmp/large_bot.mp4

Edit: And here's some recording from the test level, where I try things out. As you can see, there's tons of stuff missing and left to do: effects, decorations (details in the level), music, sound effects ... And ... yeah. If I'm lucky, the game will contain one playable level Smile Now I've got to implement all the code for the enemy not visible in the video:

I like the "chunky" mechanical look... So retro...

The demo of the game is REALLY cool... Great job!!

I particularly like the dual player effect of losing health and breath... 120 seconds? No pressure... lol

Looking forward to the final version...

Your game will be hard to beat! Best of luck with the Jam.

NB: You do realize that most of us, alright - me, will want to know how you put it all together... preferably using an at least a 5 part video tutorial with accompanying PDF/HTML documentation (English/Latin/Klingon)... A series of videos in regards to modelling and an example video of the modelling software with step-by-step procedures of a "from scratch" to completed model (including animation)... By the way, how much vacation time did you say that you had? Moo Ha Ha Ha...

Hi....

Although you don’t have enough time to make this entry, I feel that this game is full of enthusiasm. There is no doubt about it. It is not difficult for other netizens in this forum to feel it. Maybe this game will eventually surprise us. Your efforts should yield good results in the end.

I did some polishing, added a title screen, options etc and made one more level. I submitted it at four o clock this morning Big Grin  You can download it from the jam's page.

I can't tell if it's super easy or super hard. I breeze through it with my eyes closed, but I know exactly how the enemies move and play fps games a lot.
